Ableton is great, logic as well. I started out on Reason which I'd also recommend, as you get a good grasp on routings and the synths are awesome. But yeah, youtube is probably the way to go (boyinaband is nice for Reason users), and find someone IRL to talk to about this stuff. Feedback is absolute...
