Re: Finding witch-y samples

This thread is exactly what I've been looking for. I'm fairly new to production myself so I've really been experimenting with samples and making them unrecognizable. My main question is how do you guys go about keeping your music-based samples in key with the music you've already made? Some thing l...

Re: Sound production help :)

That has to do with the pitch bends and how you organise the notes... I'm showing you how to make the actual sound

Re: Sound production help :)

A single square wave... that is all. Nothing else what so ever in 3xOsc. I guess you could maybe add a tiny bit of white noise for grit but its really just a square wave http://i.imgur.com/azIj8.png There I even highlighted what needs changed. Click square and set the other 2 Oscillators to 0 volume...

Re: Sound production help :)

Just made it in 3xOsc and TAL Bitcrusher in about 30 seconds...

You are over thinking it. Get a square wave, put the pattern in the piano roll, pitch bend it up and down to get the short blip sound and then bitcrush it to taste

Re: Sound production help :)

I didnt tell you to use premade sounds on a VST. All chiptune synths are based on either triangle or square waves as that was all that the chips could produce. Try playing with pitch envelopes for the short bleeps and you definitely want to bitcrush them a lot to make them sound real

Re: Sound production help :)

I haven't heard the song but if you are going for a chip tune sound then all you really need is a square wave or a triangle wave and maybe some bit crushing

Re: MY FIRST COMPOSITION WITCH HOUSE

Pretty cool tune, I feel it would sound better if the drums were a bit louder in the mix. Very good for a first song though

Favourite sample packs?

There's a vst thread so why not a sample thread?

Mine are Goldbaby Tape808 for 808s and the popmusic hit kit v3 for percussion and real drums. I also record a lot of my own hits and process them

Re: for those working with DAWs- your preferred vSTs

Cytomic's The Glue is probably my favourite VST at the moment. I believe the next Ableton comes with a version of it as it's stock compressor. I also recommend these - http://www.gersic.com/plugins/hosted/darkware/darkware.html All free and they will all complete destroy your sounds, if used in mode...

Feedback, please? (Updated)

Hey all, so I heard a bit of witch house on /mu/ and decided to have a bash at it. I tried to be as original as possible while sticking to a slow, creepy vibe. It's just a demo at the moment as I need to work on the mixdown. I really like the witch house sound so I'll have a listen to a bunch of peo...
