Re: rap/hip-hop

^Sounds to me like you haven't really checked out the genre and are basing this off of things you'd hear on the radio. There are plenty of artists that aren't chauvinistic or about material objects, but it takes the will, time, and energy as well as the desire to find the good stuff. I'm only saying...

Re: KORG Electribes (EMX-1, ESX-1, etc)

Depending on how much I have to spend, I've come to a decision (more or less):
-I'm going to get an SP-404SX for sampling and working towards doing live stuff.
-If I have money left over, I'm going to get a Monotribe (or maybe a Monotron) with it.
-The next music purchase I make will be the EMX.

Re: KORG Electribes (EMX-1, ESX-1, etc)

I was just lurking but I decided to register JUST to reply to this. (also, hey guys, I'm new here) GET the EMX! No matter what I do, witch house manages to come out of it. If I could have one piece of gear to make a witch house track with, all by itself, I would choose the EMX. Pair it with a cheap...

For what it's worth, this is me and a friend jamming on a Kaossilator Pro and Kaossilator for a half hour solid. All live recording, no edits, no fx.

Re: Dubstep V.S Witch House

I've noticed too that a lot of people in my area consider dubstep a music type in itself. I heard some the other day say something along the lines of "I like listening to everything, except techno and dubstep" seeing as most unenlightened people use 'techno' as an umbrella term for all el...
