Re: Dubstep V.S Witch House

Witch House and REAL Dubstep have many similar traits in my eyes. These similarities are what drew me to WH in the first place when I was getting pissy about the lawnmower-revving Brostep producers highjacking the dubstep genre. Traditional Dubstep is about creating tension and anxiety. It's driven ...

Re: predecessors

• Classic goth business such as Bauhaus, Siouxsie, ASF, Sisters, etc.
• Traditional dubstep the likes of Mala, Distance, Vaccine, Elemental, etc.
• Various synthpop and EBM bands I jammed out to in Highschool...
• Generic, mainstream Hip Hop and R&B on the radio.

I have no idea what's wrong with that 808 clap, I've got a decent amount of reverb on the rest of the drum rig, but as you said, it comes...

Critique / Feedback Topic?

Howdy, I've been lurking these forums for a bit, and I've noticed there's not really a continuous thread for producers to get feedback from one another. All my production friends have interests in more mainstream genres, and at times they don't really understand where I'm coming from with my project...

Re: Making witch house

I build my synths in Reason 4, and do my sequencing in Ableton 7. For percs I recorded a kit from a friend's 808 and 909.
