Re: WITCH HOUSE - COMMUNION
to be honest I think musically it can be whatever people like, I assumed due to people's interests on this forum it would be "dark" anyway, but yeah please hand it in! Somehow I've done mine. Will someone take the reigns of mastering the whole thing? If no one else wants to do it (wikan, I...

Re: Third Eye Foundation
I've come into Witch House from pretty unconnected musical field, but I was listening to this guy years ago and see a real link between what he's been doing since the mid nineties and the feeling WH puts across. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKTU0O8GIFE Fantastic stuff totally agree, new album is ...

Re: WITCH HOUSE - COMMUNION
I guess we see what we have before the deadline then if it is a stupid number of tracks split it into volumes.
but yeah someone taking the reigns is a good idea in terms of where we send stuff to.

WITCH HOUSE - COMMUNION
Ok here seems to be the rules Theme: Aliester Crowley - how you interpret this is up to you, insult, glorify, miss the point, do what thou wilt etc etc Track must be written / composed at 66.6 bpm (this naturally includes subdivisions of this ie 16.65 / 33.3 / 133.2 / 266.4 etc etc) Musically I supp...

I say we put on Bandcamp and take donations to help Zin with his expenses to keep the site going? Zin, can you maybe set up a Bandcamp site? That way the $ can go directly to you.
I'll start another thread so we can put discussions of this project there

28 July would be a good deadline

Re: Group Project
so this is go? should we set a deadline?
Rules can change for the next comp, seems fair that way. We can keep this thread for future project discussion maybe?

Re: Group Project
so how about we change the rules for each edition? What will make it easier for each 'round' so to speak is someone chooses the drum palette and theme and any other rules they would like to add. The only thing that is steadfast is the 66.6bpm tempo, those who cannot do decimal points in their sequen...

Re: Any local witch house scenes?
I'm not against techno and certainly have nothing against the Gegen people. I see the passion they have for the aesthetics and I admire them. For me in this city you don't need to try very hard to go to a techno party, for that reason I don't go out very often unless the night has the potential to ...

Re: Group Project
A forum compilation is a good idea. Regarding BPM, I think the type of beat is more a defining quality than frequency of beats. Compare breakbeat to house to techno to hiphop to rock. Also what elements are involved? In other words, simple kicks and hihats? Or are there claps, rims, snares, bells, ...

Re: Any local witch house scenes?
@Anton Maiof I thought the Gegen party here was great to be honest. I really dug the mix of the main downstairs techno room and chilled upstairs "wh" area. Then again, I like techno. I'm not against techno and certainly have nothing against the Gegen people. I see the passion they have fo...

Re: Any local witch house scenes?
does an actual scene exist anywhere? there are a couple of sympathetic nights here in Berlin. the last club I went to that had Cosmotropia De Xam playing was essentially another techno night which disappointed me a fair amount.

Group Project
So, I've been doing some experiments today whilst making a new mixtape, running everything at 120/60bpm (or around that) be it juke, italo disco, witchhouse, drag, detroit techno (generally this means running things a lot slower) and I got to thinking. One of the defining qualities of a lot of moder...
