I AM SO TOTALLY THERE.

I'ma be around the venue early doors, to try to score some tickets for CRIM3S and some other friends. PM me if you think my phone number may be of use in these circumstances (meeting up for a pre-gig booze-up).

Also wetting myself in anticipation. I keep reciting the trinity of live acts confirmed in my head...

so what was with all the drama on facebreak? Balam Acab saying he's going to quit, Tri Angle saying it was a massive let down for them?

I heard nothing but good things about the Berghain show, I had guest list but (much to my regret) I was running on no sleep having returned from Zurich very early that morning.

Just curious.

just seemed like the artists and label were really unhappy about the whole thing, but everyone who went seemed to think it was great. These two sides worry me.

Firstly, everyone who played were amazing (although my memory got a bit hazy the later it got :p)!!! Pretty much everyone there was having a great time but in hindsight a lot of shit went wrong with the venue.
The projector broke/never started which led to a very dangerous/hilarious repair attempt in the middle of balam acab's set when a guy deided putting up a 12-foot high ladder in the midle of a crowd was a good idea. The staging was pretty shitty, very low down and the layout was really messy so you couldn't see anyone that was hunched over a macbook. Lighting could have been a lot better (especially given the projector failure), i.e. I would liked to have actually seen colours on the stage. Apparently the sound was cutting out quite a bit as well but I was rather incapacitated at this point so can't verify this.

Overall though it is a testament to the great artists at Tri Angle that everyone who went had an amazing time despite all the venue/promoters short comings. ∆∆∆∆∆∆∆<3<3<3

There were some SERIOUS issues. The projector stopped working during Balam Acab's set, which then prompted the lighting guys to get ladders out and deal with it.

Only the projector was over the crowd. So they put ladders up IN THE CROWD.

THEN when they couldn't get it to work, they tried fiddling with the leads, which meant the sound cut out more than a few times - poor Evian Christ's DJ set suffered a fair few stoppages.

And they never got the projector to work. Ever. So Holy Other was barely perceivable in all black, with no lighting. BUT the soundsystem was great and the atmosphere was brilliant, the place was packed and the performances were top-notch. Thus great night, although Tri-Angle and the artists may not have been happy.

Yeah, I saw the dude on the step ladder - didn't realise that was actually in the crowd.

I only noticed 1 cut in the music after that to be honest.

I really hope the guys involved aren't too bothered by it all - i hope they do another night, I quite liked the venue.

During the performance?!
If so that's fucking insanely rude and would explain why Balam Acab was so upset.

I really regret choosing sleep over Berghain now... :(
