for those working with DAWs- your preferred vSTs

in recent times I've been traveling more and been restricted to, at best, laptop sequencing. In a search for continuing to find a lead that wasn't babby's_first_loopmaster_sample.wav, I came across a vst by the name of Makjen's Chimera- a freeware experimental virtual analogue synthesizer.

it's pretty cool, but personally, i could still go with some more other than my DAW's default vsts. who else here uses any?

they all do the same thing for the most part, and being so cheap its worth it to buy a couple, wont give up my favorties but start with sylenth they have endless preset banks available and most songs perfect for witchy tunes

My workhorse synths are Sylenthe1, Massive, Z3TA+2, MiniMoogV and newly Albino3. I'm pretty new to the whole witch scene, and it seems a lot of people are very analog. Which is cool and all, but I'm first and foremost a garage and bass music producer, so using a DAW and software is just the best way to get the sound I want.

MinimogueVA, TAL Bassline, TAL Noise Maker, Arppe2600va (modular), for drums: CM 505 (wondrous) and TS 808.

I can't recommend TAL's plugins enough. TAL Uno-62 is a superb Juno emulation. He bassline (SH-101) plugin is sick too. His effects are awesome, and most are free (except for the UNO-LX, which is definitely worth the money).

My favorites have mostly been listed... Minimoog, Massive (LOVE IT), Z3TA (been using it for 6 or so years), and the Maschine software I sometimes run as a VST instead of a standalone program.

Cytomic's The Glue is probably my favourite VST at the moment. I believe the next Ableton comes with a version of it as it's stock compressor.
I also recommend these - http://www.gersic.com/plugins/hosted/da ... kware.html
All free and they will all complete destroy your sounds, if used in moderation you can get some amazing grit

I had some problems (an bug in the volume control) with Uno-62, so I never used it so much. But the SH-101 (TAL Bassline) was all I needed when I was using VST's. >.<
For effects, I recommend Kjaerhus Audio Classic series.

I use Ableton, but i also use an outboard vocoder to give a raw quality to the digital side of things.

imposcar by Gforce
Uhbik - Uhe
Ace - Uhe
Sylenth1 - LennarDigital
Fab Filters are nice too

----- but honestly ---- Synth/sample, compression, eq, filter/reverb/delay ------- this is a good sequence to follow for a clean eq

----- remember ----- dirty synthesis and sounds are a fine tweak, be careful of mud in your sound. I purposely will eq some parts of songs "badly" for artistic purposes. But its all with good taste

just a few of my secret weapons, check out my sounds you will be pleased :)

there is a wicked free vst i love called SQ8L. I find it nice for making 80's horror vibes. Though its setup is kind of retarded it makes some lovely spine tingling chimes.
