trying to warm up my sound

i want a real analogue feel. i don't know where to start. help?

VST wise I like the following

or the Waves Kramer Tape plug
otherwise it's running the signal out through a seperate out on my soundcard through a light fuzz/distortion/analog chorus/analog filter - of which I have two: An electrix filter queen and a monotron, the filter is noisy, but that's part of the charm - cheap too.

Record out to tape hot (cassette or micro-cassette) and record it back in.
If you are using live, the saturator device can warm up the lows pretty well. You can put that on your master or set it up on a send. PSP Vintage Warmer can work well too. Basically anything that adds some mild distortion/compression to the low end.
Tape also has a limited frequency response compared to a computer, so you may want to use an EQ/HICUT/LOWPASS filter to shave some of the highs off. Not too much, just enough to lose that glossy, shiny made in a computer sound.

Just try out/subbing/Fx sends to cheap old guitar pedals like Overdrives or EQs
