Me too!

I like theme. Winter in general makes me think of more atmosphere-driven tracks with lots of reverb and minimalistic beats. Creates a feeling of vast emptiness. That's me anyway.

This was my inspiration for recommending the theme. :)

Anton, depends on how much time is needed to master. Maybe December 1st? That gives 3 solid months of development time. Anyone know a photog who could help with cover art? If not, I can search for one.

I'm not a photographer, but I am a trained graphic designer, once you find the art you want to use, I could set the typography for it.

Deadline I think is really up to Zin because he will take the reigns once the audio is actually done. I don't mind mastering stuff again, I never asked actually if you guys were happy with it, and I will be in no way offended if someone else wants to take this responsibility away from me.

But please if I do take it, WAV or AIFF please. 24bit if possible.

As for the Coil release: Could we get deeper into the subject? Perhaps a specific part?

i don't think he means that it's Coil themed. just that their release inspired the theme... right?

if so, then here's some deeper info:

ah yes, I just meant in the sense of avoiding any closeness to the coil thing, but researching there is enough in there and enough different people to give their own take. I'm not worried about similarities. I'm sure they would just be coincidental.

So yes. Shall we "rock"?

Are there any additional restrictions/thematic elements like the 66.6 BPM thing?

I'm not sure, the bpm thing caused a lot of grief last time.

I'm open to these things though if anyone wants to suggest some further rules to the game.

I didn't mean any similarity to Coil other than that they did a series dedicated to the seasons. If we could come remotely close to the quality of these releases then it would be a MAJOR feat. I think the theme should be enough to get an interesting variety of tracks. For context, check the Wiki page for a definition and examples of what this holiday means to different cultures. It's essentially a celebration of the sun, and the longest night of the year. Maybe we launch this on the very evening itself and provide a live streaming so we could essentially celebrate across the globe? Of course while we do our various rituals of sacrificing virgins, eating broccoli, and carving pentagrams into our wrists.
