I just released my first album today on band camp.

Darkness and art are intertwined. Suffering is a beauty that is often misunderstood. I am a different kind of artist. I am here to show you the beauty in death. I break the rules and question everything. Even within my own art.

FUCK RULES, FUCK TRADITION, FUCK FAKE RULE ABIDING ARTIST. FUCK PRIDE.

I will open the eyes of those who consider themselves taboo, holy, evil, BME, agnostic, spiritual, ignorant, good, bad, or what ever the fuck you want to call yourself.

Most "Witch House" artist follow specific rules and guidelines, this foolish view keeps them closed minded and thus they lack an understanding of the true nature of being taboo. tradition is for fools. And i love to fuck over fools. :)

I like the music, particularly "Julia Child Porn" catches my ear. I don't enjoy your heavily bolstered and overly prideful self-aggrandizement.

how about "say it don't spray it" or "the lady doth protest too much"
when you use such a confrontational approach to promotion you're gonna meet some resistance

See I actually like what you're doing a lot and agree with you to a point, but after you've written something like this you've really got to back it up by doing something that doesn't sound very similar to a lot of other witch house acts. I'm all for arrogance and that kind of rhetoric but couldn't you back it up with something that doesn't, y'know, stick to the rules and guidelines?

tone it down a bit, dude.
I mean, you can't act like such a rebel when you use the same sounds and patterns as everyone else AND lump yourself in with such a highly specific scene, especially when your artist name is (kind of) the name of the style/genre.
I mean, it's not bad really, some is nice,... but it kinda sounds like 1000 other kids on soundcloud in the witch house group. Just saying. Listenable, but not terribly original (which is totally fine as long as you don't boast about how original you are).
And the tracks that fall outside of a standard witch house sound, just kind of fall into a standard IDM sound. (I also heard some wubs in there, bruh.)

AND even if it was totally bonkers unheard-of original groundbreaking shit.. you shouldn't have that "look at how awesome I think I am" attitude anyhow. Way too patting-yourself-on-the-back there.

Yeah, if anything he's got the self promotion bit down.
When I drop Leave Tonight Mixtape Part 2 on the 12th expect "LISTEN UP YOU STUPID CUNTS, I HOP BETWEEN GENRES ON THIS BITCH LIKE IT'S YOUR FACE".
Or maybe not, I'm way too English for this shit.

You guys have a funny way about taking wrong shit way to seriously. I just dropped my tag line that was on my tumblr, it was mostly for the judgmental fools (or so i thought) that existed outside of this forum. The kind of person who just tosses hipster triangles on shit and calls it witch house.

I named it Wh1ch House?......... ya know......I thought you would understand its kinda like about bending the rules just by the name it......Do any of you understand humor........?

I made wh1ch house? as art for art sake. Not to get famous or gain popularity from. Question everything and feel the beauty in dark art. Everybody dies. and when it happens, its sad, yet beautiful, existence captures these moments. As artist, we emulate these feeling with music/painting/dance/photos/ext...... We can express what some can only feel. When we create a sense of reality and truth within our sounds that when it get to people.

I mean, I don't think most of you understand art. I live and breath it everyday, day and night. For some of you this may be a hobby or side gig. Music is my career. Call me a cocky bastard, but somebody has to change the world.... and it sure as hell isn't gonna be someone who doesn't fully believe in him/her self.

I don't write witch house...... It's called wiccan beats.....lolz

Getting popular on Witch-house.com:

1. Make shitty, generic, uninspired synth based music
2. Throw a bunch of overused symbols in your name and song titles in generic, non-creative ways
3. Make everyones ears and eyes bleed
4. ????
5. Collect kudos

Surely the core ideas of witch house mean that the "scene" suddenly having rules is completely missing the point, so if that's what you're saying I totally agree. I got into witch house drawn in by the emphasis on mood over rigid sonic specifications, so in theory you could be making neofolk kind of stuff and be a witch house act or making actual house music or doing that mix of R&B, synth pop and trap that's so popular at the moment and that be witch house. Or, god forbid, not be tied down to one genre and stay in a box. I too am tired of the way things are being endlessly regurgitated, but obviously there's a lot of good witch house being made too. Witch house for me is the box things get put in when there's no other box to put it in so the tastemakers don't want to talk about it. Too much risk of someone actually getting inspired.

You're right, mate, I don't understand art at all and I think if you're a great artist that you don't either. I think you may spend your life trying to understand it but one of the beauties of art and specifically music is that its totally subjective and always changing and morphing. If you're not touching people's hearts then what's the point, I agree with you on that. Just that being arrogant doesn't get that point across, it just helps people who're already inclined to ignore you just make their mind up about you and not explore your work. It's frustrating, I know, trust me I know all about it. Frankly I'm disappointed there's so much cliqueyness and not more camaraderie, this is a pretty niche subset so we really need to stick together.

Come now, that's unfair....you missed out "Know the right people". But it's the same all over the place with that, and I'd say this isn't actually as bad as a lot of other places.

Beautifully stated Neurotic, thank you. Rules becoming instated within the so called "scene" of witch house have weakened its ability to grow and push the boundaries of dark music.

Beauty/Art can be somewhat understood. When one see's/hears beauty it is felt deep within. In order to better understand this "feeling", one should put these "feelings" into some kind of linguistic form. For example, vocalization through words/song, or expression with writing/poetry. This creates a better grasp of beauty/art and thus a more real and true understanding of it.

Art is understood in mathematics and science by the means of sacred geometry and fractals. These key concepts have been proven to be major key component in what humanity views as "good art". For example the golden mean was used by every respected artist of the renaissance and the "golden mean" is found in the western eastern scales. When one fully understands these depths of artistic truths, one can bend the rules and artistic freedom becomes endless.

Now at this level of art, I agree, full understanding of its beauty becomes harder to define. This beauty goes beyond words and dives into a deeper more beautiful realm that is only explainable through feelings of truth and Synesthesia.

ie, listen to new music, study the sound design of your favorite songs, study your music theory, refine and define your synthesis/filtering methods, learn and practice new EQing and mastering techniques.

Or else you'll never be able to fuck that hot girl next door that you been trying to get at for years.
