BIOGRAPHY:
Rippling with emotive stealth, sleek melodies, and sly rhythms, the sounds of Dallas based Mr.Kitty dance across the senses igniting thoughts and passions with their incendiary seduction with every persuasive movement. It is a temptation brewed from a blissful fusion of electronic pop and new wave energy with eighties post punk and emotive Goth sensitivity, a fascination which wraps around the mind and heart inviting a full and frank emotional union with the startling imagination and eager perception offered.

Image
Dallas-based Forrest Carney, a.k.a. Mr.Kitty, takes inspirations from the likes of Joy Division, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Crystal Castles, Pictureplane, and Grimes into his creative weaves, as well as the craft of brewing colourful narratives developed through his invention as a visual artist. Potent textures frequent his passion sculpted songs, crystalline structures and mesmeric beauty easy companions to shadow inspired sentiment and at times confronting and battling depths of emotion. Mr.Kitty describes his sound as ‘a post-apocalyptic dream of serenity and your deepest depression,’ a description brought openly into view with the enveloping and extensively provocative sirenesque narratives he conjures through the enthralling embraces.

Just as with his albums and releases, Mr.Kitty has impressed audiences with his live presence, shows which have seen him alongside bands such as Crystal Castles, Ritualz, How I Quit Crack, and Le Sphinxx and playing the 2011 Warped Tour. The master of sonic and melodic expressions now sets free his new creation “LIFE”, the Engraved Ritual-released triumph part of the four album series he has created and evolved consisting of two "light" and two "dark" albums, “LIFE” bred in the lighter shade of his imagination.

From the opening retro-synthpop of ‘Insects,’ to the radio-friendly pop concoction ‘Scars,’ to the somber, touching eulogy of closing track ‘Father’, ‘LIFE’ is an album with a destiny to inspire the deepest feelings, fears, and hopes within all, an enchantress inviting a poetic immersion into the brighter side of the shadows and sunsets wrapping our lives and an encounter setting Mr.Kitty as one of the truest souls within electronic/goth/synth pop.

"The music is the perfect blend of retro and progressive. Life does a great job of paying homage to its inspirations while not ignoring it's own vast potential."

Brutal Resonance: http://brutalresonance.com/viewblog.php?id=2278

Latest reviews:
For all of its dramatics and emotional melodrama, it has an obliging and cordial quality. It’s just fun, and easy to enjoy to boot. The fact that it’s also a whole hour long and never seems to wear itself out or provide an easy break-point in listening is equally admirable. In it Mr.Kitty has crafted a near perfect collection of songs, each one flowing into the next with a kind of cultivated certainty. As new synthpop goes it’s a corker of an album, looking over its shoulder to the past as it forges on ahead into a cool new future. Good stuff."
- I Die: You Die:

" Life leaves a powerful and lingering imprint on mind and heart. It is an outstanding encounter that leaves no emotional stone unturned yet does so with a light and melodic energy which captures the passions."

A few more reviews and interviews have come out since I last posted:
One of the hallmarks of this album is Mr. Kitty’s incredible ability to convey such strong emotion and feeling to the listener. It isn’t often that an album affects me so deeply and profoundly, but Mr. Kitty’s Life reached right into my brain and touched me perfectly, directing vivid feeling and sensation.

Love this shit. So good & catchy. Not necessarily as "dark" as some of the other W.H. classic albums (Can you believe there is classics already?) but definitely taking the sound in a new and interesting direction. A sound that feels almost as if a robot thinks it has human emotions. Too cool

New review in the Sept/October issue of Auxiliary Magazine:
"What you get is fifteen songs with infectious melodies, poppy beats, and lyrics that are personal and age appropriate, as opposed to some 45 year old writing about teen angst […]LIFE is a very enjoyable listen and easy go-to album when you are hunting for something to listen to, it gets my recommendation for everyone to check out."-
