what a surprise...

If you are getting this it means that you have contacted me about the
White Ring 12" in the past week. I was supposed to get the remaining
vinyls from n old Disaro Records associate over the weekend, but I
have yet to hear back from him. Since I made the promise to you guys
to send your orders out today, I'm giving you guys a heads-up about
it. I'm doing everything in my power to get these orders out to you
guys. It's hard to do when we (Karkis Distribution) had nothing to do
with the WR release, and we are now trying to clean up after other
people's messes.

If I don't have the records in my hands by Wednesday evening, I will
begin refunding people for their orders. Hopefully it won't have to
come to that, and you all can have your orders shipped out. I will
keep you all in the loop, and apologize for this delay.

I'm talking with German right now and he's telling me pretty much the same thing. The difference here is that when he says he's going to do something, he actually follows through. That's pretty rare in LA

We've been friends for nearly 10 years now; I know I can always call or IM him if I need anything. You guys can be assured that once he has the vinyls in hand, THEY WILL BE SHIPPED!!

Doesn't seem like a smart business decision on Karkis' end. I guess I see the allure of taking over a popular label like Disaro but I'm not sure why he would want to represent / work with someone who knowingly ripped off a bunch of customers.

I hope for the best and German does sound like hes doing the best he can but I wouldn't be surprised if you all receive refunds instead of records.

he may have been one of the investors who got screwed over by robert disaro and just wants to recoup his investment by trying right old wrongs to clear up the label's reputation some so the label actually progresses... just a theory, as i don't know the whole story behind his involvement in the label.

...and refunds are better than what robert disaro provided, which was zilch.

That's true. If he's an original investor, that would make a lot of sense.

Either way, you're right: a refund is better than nothing. Hopefully everyone gets a record, though!

but who is paying for the refunds? not disaro for sure...sucks to have to resort to that.

worth the wait, though... i still think White Ring are awsm and i'll def buy the next thing they do.

gotta hand it to German, he is definitely a man of his word and though it kinda goes against my better judgement after the whole ordeal, i'll buy the Zombelle release whenever it comes out.

Just met up with German last night at the L.A. Substance DISARO tour kick-off. He was extremely cool and professional. He has his hands on a lot of upcoming projects and big ideas for the label.... I'm really looking forward to seeing what he does with it. Just judging from my brief encounter, I can tell he really hopes to amend the fallout of Robert's mismanagement.

Haven't received any confirmation on my side. Could be because Canada Post is on strike.
