I came back to this EP today, I've been really into VC's stufff back in the day and wanted to see if it still holds up. And it does. It's not a stricte witch house release, although the elements are there, but there's a great deal of IDM and post-dubstep influences too. It makes me think of a Holy Other x Mount Kimbie crossover; think mellow and leftfield vibe but juxtaposed with harsher synth lines and witchy beats. I love the delicate flute like sounds in "See U///1431" paired with it's heavy drums, the cinematic synthlines in "DolzigerStrasse6" that have a futuristic appeal, the deconstructed and chopped tribal (or church-like) vibes of "Ce N'est Pas Possible/That's Fantastic", and finally the underwater witch house feel of "Sushi/WeiserStrasse". Next up for me to check is the mixtape.
