This entire genre IMO is a tribute, without need for a sigil to charge as such.

Not surprised to find Coil mentioned in this section! My favourite band of all time, without a doubt, they have had an incredible influence on me, both personally, and musickally.

I recently mastered Danny Hyde's new "Svay Pak" EP, which is well worth a listen!

I've been digging this Sleazy interview too recently (in two parts):

From Ian Johnstone's personal webpage http://arktodd.com/

"Any future official Coil news and releases will be made here.

Jordi Devas (the executor of Peter's estate) and myself intend to make the entire Coil back catalogue available again on CD and any previously unreleased or unfinished work will be released as such. All in good time.

There have been NO official Coil releases since Peter passed away and I can confirm that a recent unofficial release has absolutely nothing to do with Coil . Please don't feed these parasites to genuine creativity. "

Yep, I recently ordered a few prints from Ian and they are now gracing my studio wall!

I hope the Coil back catalogue is kept in print, it's such an astounding legacy to leave behind, it really does deserve to be widely accessible.

For those unaware, many Coil friends/collaborators are still living and for the most part, releasing new music. Cyclobe for one I would highly recommend. Haven't heard much lately from Thighpaulsandra, but he's way talented as well. And obviously Chris & Cosey, GPO, Douglas P, and David Tibet are still alive and kickin'. Lastly, just noticed Black Sun Productions have released new material in the spring.

P.S. Anyone know if the infamous list is still active? Haven't been a part of it in almost a decade. For the uninitiated, join at your own risk.

Yes, the new Cyclobe album, "Wounded Galaxies Tap At The Window", has just been released on CD and is amazing. I have the limited vinyl release from a few months ago.

I also like Thigps, my fave probably being the ambient stuff he did back with Julian Cope, although his Kosmiche Music contributions to the Coil's "Musick To Play In The Dark" albums are also fabulous.

Yes, the Coil list is still going strong, I sub once or twice a year, but always un-sub pretty quickly due to the annoying nature of a lot of the posts.

And another quick plug for Danny Hyde/Aural Rage's new "Svay Pak" EP, which (SPAM ALERT) I mastered recently:

I haven't heard the new Black Sun album yet, but like a lot of their earlier stuff, and will hopefully be hooking up with Massimo in Milan soon, with a view to future mastering work!
