I can't stand rap or hiphop. Not gonna hate on anyone that's a fan of it, I just hate how the majority of the artists are chauvinistic and are all about material objects. Personal opinion though.

^Sounds to me like you haven't really checked out the genre and are basing this off of things you'd hear on the radio. There are plenty of artists that aren't chauvinistic or about material objects, but it takes the will, time, and energy as well as the desire to find the good stuff. I'm only saying this because I once held similar opinions, but I think if you are honestly willing to open your eyes and take a look around, it's a really rewarding genre. I'd recommend starting with something like "The Taste of Rain... Why Kneel?" by Deep Puddle Dynamics, if that's too left field for you, however, there's always Metropolis Now.

DPD - The Candle:

DPD - Heavy Ceiling:

Metropolis Now - Separate Parts:

Another feel good favorite of mine is Scarub:
(L.I.F.E. for what it's worth)

Enjoy man. Hope this opened your ears a little.

Does Astronautalis count? His lyrics are insane - very talented - great at improve stuff. Recently dropped a new album featuring one of the Tegan and Sara girls... I think Tegan. Not necessarily his best stuff but here are a few vids:

Improve about Kanye's mother - illustration of his freestyle talents:

SDFDH - co sign on all.

I have been known to say in the past that cLOUDDEAD were witch house pre-cursors. I don't think that is too much of an exaggeration. DJ Screw to cLOUDDEAD - you got it.

Guys - I've been writing about hip hop and the voice a bit (the dragged voice being so important in WH) on my blog a bit recently. It's a bit philosophical but there are some nice videos y'all may like.

There are 6 parts, the footnotes and bibliography are all in part 6. If anyone has any comments I'd like to hear them.

above link is the first of the 6.....

Anyone here like Hauleek Maul? Also have anyone heard the PHXLLVPSCRXW Cvlvndxrs mix???? This version of Rob Bank$ Counting is soooo dope - - vids here too http://notesfromthevomitorium.blogspot. ... art-4.html
Notes from the Vomitorium - Amerkaji Meme - Feynmans Echo - Pyrrhic Victories

Our label Haute Magie, while dealing a lot with ritualistic / ambient folk & psychedelia, has a heavy heart for hip hop in all walks

Bestovitch - Rituel de la Haute Magie: Kiss From a Witch 12" LP
Ambient / cutup psych-hop anthems from Ireland

Michum - self-titled cassette
Deep, sidereal ambient organic rhythms and psychedelic instrumentation

BATHAUS - ARCANE|||CUT cassette
Hard hitting cutup hip hop flush with samples and pounding beats

and this won't be all!
