Ourobonic Plague - Gaap (2011)

hey all... i'm putting tracks from my forthcoming EP - "GAAP" - up on the soundcloud, one at a time...

so far there's two tracks up, out of a total 7. if i get any interest i might throw another one up later today.

since i'm waiting on a few things to come together i won't announce a speculative release date, but i can tell you it will be available before the end of September, CD-r and Bandcamp style.

this EP marks a bit of move into new territory for me. some of it's maybe... not what you'd expect from a lot of witch house, but let me assure you that the origins of these songs couldn't be more appropriate for a genre of this name. if you take my meaning.

"Gaap" still to this day remains my favourite release from OP, amazing mix of witchhouse, drone, hiphop and dark ambient, with some elements of chiptune and power electronics smuggled here and there. Also that cover art, perfection that stood the test of time, unlike many many others from that era.

interesting! I'm thinking the new one might appeal then, but we'll see I guess!

also, in case you didn't know.. or, just an excuse to big him up - the artwork was done by a friend who now makes music under the name Consulate, and while it's not very witch-house - it's kinda dubby techno I guess? - i think it might appeal to the same crowd, check this out:
