Debut EP from Swiss beatmaker Kiing Kvvos (producer behind the Decomposition project, which also debuted this year on Blvsphemy Records). Four tracks of dark trap and witch house. That's pretty much the review.
Nothing mind-blowing or "fresh", but maybe sometimes that's what is really needed? Personally I wish there was less trap and predictable synths, and more sound exploration and having fun with it. Opener "Why don't you die", especially in its second half, is soaked in Ritualz-style keys from "Ghetto Ass Witch" EP, and draws maybe a bit too much from JC's signature sound. "Insidious Demon" sounds like an evil brother of "Harlem Shake", and is the most exciting track on this EP - the vocal samples work wonders and bring the whole track to life. The two tracks in between are just average witch house / trap hybrids, and can't really say anything more about them than that. It's a debut that shows the artist has most of the ingredients, but maybe needs to spice things up a bit and get a new cookbook.
