This is quite excellent, sitting somewhere between experimental free-improv metal from "The Hierophant" by Burial Hex and spiritual jazz musings of Angel Bat Dawid on her debut "The Oracle". Maybe not something I'd buy for my collection, but an interesting discovery nevertheless.

sounds great, i like that avant-garde ritual metal mood. is very middle ages. Also there's some neo-folk martial feel on this. Like ordo rosarius equilibrio i think.

As much as I'd like to claim them as Australian I think they're actually from New Zealand.

Ha, right you are. I saw something about them recording in Melbourne and completely missed that they were from NZ.
Actually I think I heard them first on New Weird Australia (if you're not familair with it, used to be a radio show in Sydney and now is an occasional podcast: http://newweirdaustralia.com/ ) - so I think the host made that same mistake?
I guess it's often a case of "close enough" though.
