https://web.archive.org/web/20120726070 ... umblr.com/Pale Noir is an independent do it yourself label that provides a home base for like-minded individuals in promoting self-exploration in art and sound. Pale Noir began as a hobby that turned into a treasured passion.
Pale Noir was launched in January 2011 by Nicole Wilson of Madison, WI with the help of her husband Brian Wilson. The exploration of electronic music began in the mid 90’s when taking up a DJ hobby that led to many gigs around the Midwest. Soon after she found herself promoting and organizing monthly club nights that brought electronic acts from around the world.
After taking a break from promoting and setting aside her DJ hobby, she put all of her focus on music production that had become a large part of her creative outlet. Having made some connections to the world of music through the internet she released music on a few net labels but often her sound was not understood. Later, after searching the various internet spots for underground music, she started finding common ground with many other artists and through newly found inspirations, she knew she had to create a brand where the “outcast” could be free to flourish in an understanding and supportive environment. So Pale Noir was born.
Now over a year in the making Pale Noir has had just over twenty releases in digital, CD-r, and DVD formats with an ever growing family of supporters. We value the creative process of every artist we meet; especially among those who find beauty in the darker sides of music. We are driven by the joy one finds when hearing a song for the first time and feeling like only you and a few others are in on the secret. Pale Noir is the whisper you hear that beckons you to walk further down dark hallways to gaze upon cracked mirrors and creep upon dusty floors.
