Before Xavier was Ʌ, he performed under a number of aliases (XX, WIRES!WIRES! and Panoptics). But "Persephone" was his first solo, after the split with Dream Boat, single. Consisting of two similar but also different versions, the song is dedicated to Greek queen of the underworld. The "Wides" version is sung by Xavier, while on "Narrows" he's joined by Diana Joy. Both are paired with a droney, dark synth instumental that sounds equally impressive and spooky.
