The state of M‡яc△ll△

Post Posted

Going through some trauma. Realized it is more important than ever to channel it and keep this project alive. So we are working on a new album to release before the close of the year. FB killed our page and Instagram is turning into Tik Tok Trash, so we will be dropping updates here and on our Tumblr page. Expect some new videos soon as well. "We love our audience".

Thank you for listening.

All the best to you man, your music is amazing, and keep not only you going but also us who enjoy it. Social media is trash atm, FB groups are just a bunch of bros patting each other on the back and empty likes, IG is ruined by the algorithms too. Ritualz touched on it too a few weeks ago on twitter

Definitely looking forward to hear new tracks from you

Thank you for the kind words about our music. We have about 5 tracks in progress now. Things are progressing. We also put up a few albums on Youtube as playlists.

The world seems to be in a state of disrepair. Everything is politics & bots, lol. It's all going to crash down soon we think. Stay safe, friends :D

Finished another track yesterday. LP is coming along. In the meantime, we are going to continue adding some older stuff to our Youtube channel. Here is Fragments & Burnt Memories as well as the B side The Retvrn from 2012.

Six tracks now and several "ideas", to flesh out. In case anyone is curious on our method. We dig through movie samples looking for a vibe. Anything from Hammer Horror to modern thrillers. Like we just grabbed some stuff from Clean with Adrien Brody.
Then we program some drums in NI Battery. A custom kit we made out of real drum machines and synths pretending to be drum machines. Once we have an interesting rhythm we jam on the synths until something sticks. Then we record the pieces, or we swap the MIDI out for different synths to hear some variations. Then we save everything and close it for a few days. When we come back, if it works, we complete it. If it doesn't, we save some ideas but basically start again. Chiral for example, at one point was 25 tracks. Several tracks from the Heretic sessions were released the following year as EPs. Nothing is wasted, but you might never know how it started out ;)

Here is TEMPLΛR FATE. A B-side we put together from the Blind Dead films for the exclusive track MVRDERESS. Cheers.

I just realised I wasn't subscribed to you channel - fixed that now :) I'm digging the fact that you're giving your uploads a simple but distinct visual treatment too, instead of steady images. So good to come back to those older tracks.

I love a good backstory, and this is such a fascinating account of your research process.

Thanks, Zin. We always wanted to do videos to accompany the releases but the process never really panned out. Now we found Shot Cut and there are great visual repositories like Pexels & Unsplash. So we are using these older tracks to experiment so the new release will have a proper treatment as well. Cheers.

I thought we did 2 mixes for his HAARPS project. Used to be on our SC. But we cleaned it out when we stopped paying them for pro. I will try to dig it up next week for you. We should probably do a 2nd "Compendium", compilation. We did a lot of mixes between 2012-2015, not all of them released officially.

Right now we are making vids for Steadfast & Tumult+Fortitude from the limited Pale Noir 23° 26' comp. Then we will do a vid for Manifestation-which was a SC exclusive track.

your project is great and very creative- I like the futuristic current style of your recent releases. Your track: "Rendered Memories" is a true masterpiece. regards from Chile.

Earthshine & Impervious were a turning point in our sound. This is why we released them alone. We were more inspired by dub techno and contemporary experimental music at this point. Stuff like Lakker and Tim Hecker. Earthshine was created immediately after [The Stone and the Heart] and took a few weeks to get "right". It was written mainly with a drum machine and the sweeping arpeggio. Then we punched out Impervious in a few hours. Built upon an Ensoniq piano sound run through a distortion/LFO pedal.
